30 weeks, 10 more to go! phew!! It has been a crazy last 2 weeks.

Quilt from Grandma Williams...thank you!!!!

First of all, last Saturday was the 8K (5 miles) walk in Richmond along with the marathon. Mummy and I woke up at 5:30 and started our walk by 7am!!! We kept up a good pace and we finished in 1:30 minutes! We were very sore, and out feet hurt, but Baby Owen I'm sure got a good rocking and nap out of it :) I felt pretty good after the belt was strapped on, Tylenol and a hot shower to start off the day. I will post more pictures when I get them. In the meantime, this is the Brightroom Photography link to some of our pics.
The next day was the baby shower!!! It was beautiful, so cute, and very creative! Everyone had a blast. Marcie had us play two games, one.. smelling poopy (chocolaty) diapers to guess the candy bar, and two...the bingo game during gifts. It was better than I could have imagined! thank you hostesses Marcie, Dawn, Jeannie, and Sharmalie!! woohoo! When we got home with all the gifts, I really thought it was 11 pm at like 6! I also realized that Owen is going to be the best dressed 3-6 month old on the planet. Now, I am going to go through the registry and get some of those essentials and start really getting ready for him to arrive. No furniture yet. It should be here between now and Christmas. So far, there is an armoir and a glider in our room so I can go in there and rock, and daydream about out baby to be :) Brian even sat in it, held our baby doll Hazel, and got the doggies super jealous and too curious ( if you ask me). Roxy has already stolen a rubber ducky and ripped it to plastic shreds. And do not get me started on her diaper obsession....
Wednesday was our 30 week appointment. My blood pressure was finally perfect, and so Dr. Pringle was happy about that ( me too)! The lab results came back proving that my kidney and liver function were great anyway. My blood sugar results came in borderline high at 135, high is 140. She said I had no other risk factors to cause any concern, but we will still keep a close eye on it. If anything should come out funny later, we will still do the 3 hour glucose tolerance test.
My weight had gone up by 5 lbs in 2 weeks though, and she figures it is because of the extra swelling. 2 days last week and currently (uugh) my ankles are MIA! If you see them, please return them so I can wear my regular shoes again, please!!! She said that the best way to make myself more comfortable is to get some pretty compressive socks and drink lots of water. Well, Im definitely drinkin at least 80 oz of water a day. But today, (like most days) I was on my feet for 9 hours. My poor tootsies were RED and SWOLLEN at 5pm today. They are a little better after I stick 'em in the air for an hour. I also mentioned to her that I am not sleeping well at all. Still have lots of hand and shoulder pain, and numbness from my shoulder position. Im down to one sleeping position now....propped upright in bed. delightful. For this she had little to say but C'est La Vie. I brought some edema gloves home from work so I can at least open my hands in the morning and avoid the awkward unclenching of my fingers on the way to my hot shower.
So.....then Dr. Pringle measures my belly and listens to baby O's heart. He is coming in at 145 bpm. Still great! But.....now I am measuring 32 weeks. That is 2 weeks ahead of where I should be. I usually measure 1 week ahead. She said that is again....BORDERLINE...(my new M.O.) and that she would like to get an ultrasound in 2 weeks at the next appointment to see if he is just stretchin his legs...or getting to big and swimming in too much fluid. She said if this is the case, we will definitely do the 3 hour glucose test to make sure Im not fattening Owen up with gestational diabetes. In the meantime I am cutting out a lot of sugars and trying to watch my weight. Im not sure what else to do at this point except wait and try to enjoy my Thanksgiving meal :) I've also decided not to share all my news with my co-workers because I am getting too many opinions and advice from people, and when they see me eating a cookie, wail on me like I'm doing a keg stand!
Ok, well, this is definitely a sign of the 3rd trimester going down hill! It is all a management game from here on out. Managing blood pressure, sugar, weight, swelling, numbness etc till my baby monster gets here. I will stay occupied with the nursery and we start our birthing classes on Monday. I will try and commiserate with fellow preggos!

I didn't post any of my pictures of the quilt from Grandma Williams because I didn't want to ruin the suprise for you... but I got the same one too! I picked the quilt pattern and helped pick out the colors when my mom and I went to visit her a couple months back. I love it. She does such amazing work!
