Beach Trip!

Our first vacation and beach trip to Virginia Beach was soooo much fun!!! On the first day, we went down to the beach to for the first time to put our toes in the sand, Owen took a little nap in the shade, and we took a walk on the boardwalk. He was not too sure about the waves. He would turn around a grab my neck! That was the first time he has really clutched onto me for security. I really felt needed :) He liked the sand though. He wanted to grab it and rub his feet around inside it. And if you know Owen at all, you know his "unsure" face. This was nearly permanent the whole time we were looking at the ocean. Also, he LOOVES to watch other kids, so he was checking things out for the most part. We also took a dip in the pool and he was kicking and flailing his arms like he was about to swim for it! He is a fish!Luckily he was passed out early, and slept well in the hotel! The next morning we took a walk on the boardwalk, and then headed out to Annie, Dan and Claire's house to meet up with Andrea, Brad and Zachary for breakfast and a beach day together. I wish we lived closer. We had a blast! We played on the floor, took a dip, tried out some swinging, took a nap then headed out to the Bay. Owen loved the new surroundings and new toys. Claire is nearly two and handled babies in her house well :) Zachary is almost 4 months, so he was practicing his rolling and smiling. Owen reached out to pet his head moments before this picture. We all said "awwwww", but I think he thought just maybe this thing on the floor might be a dog!
Swinging and the pool were a BIG hit! Owen was laughing and trying to eat the swing. I think we need to get one if these now!!!

As soon as we put O-dog in the pool, he was trying to hold and capture the fountains! It was one of the cutest darn things! He also kept putting his face right in there as if to drink from it. We also took a trip to Chicks Beach but I left my camera in the car. Andrea will send pictures of that afternoon. Us girls were able to take a dip and we started planning a lifetime of family trips! It had been so long since we got together that we were just giggling! 2 Days was definitely long enough for a first trip. I am exhausted! Today, Owen is at Krissys so that Brian and I can have a day to clean, relax, whatever. Owen is so much fun. He has now started eating much more food like mac and cheese, any breads, bananas and apples, oatmeal, puffs, yogurt, anything from MY plate, and still the baby food. He drinks water from my cup with help because the sippy sup is still a little strange. He is really determined to crawl! He will be there within the month I'm sure. The best word for him right now is GRABBY! If he can reach it, or even lean to reach it, watch out...its his! I'm in the process of converting our beautiful Sri Lanka room into his playroom ( goodbye pretty decor). I am tyring to convince Daddy to letting me completely redecorate as I am coming to terms with the fact that we are stuck in the Incredible Shrinking House for a few more years. We are making the best of the space we have. Next step....baby proof :/ eeek
