Spring is in the air...and our eyes, nose and throat! It has been a lovely change in temp but we are suffering in the household. Unfortunately Owen has inherited his daddy's histamine production abilities. He is doing alright with some Zyrtec but poor guys got a runny nose and itchy eyes. On top of that we had our first ER visit and ambulance ride Easter night. I think Owen had a reaction to the eggs he ate ( there are many theories) but needless to say, right after he ate them he developed crazy red and itchy hives around his ears and neck, down his jaw, then popped up on his legs and tummy. I gave him some benadryl ( everyone keep benadryl in your house) which saved us a lot of trauma I believe. Because as soon as the doctors didn't call me back, owen couldn't talk and was wheezy, his throat starting closing up, and we had to call 911. Owen freaked out in the ambulance because they wanted him to ride in his car seat. We had to pull over half way to the hospital to strap us onto the stretcher to calm his heart rate which at this point was 187. This worked, so when we got to the ER I could tell that the benadryl had already started working and I felt a lot better. They loaded him up with steroids, antihistamines, and found out he had an ear infection to top it off. All in all, it was very lucky we were able to control his swelling cause I was not about to see him strapped up to machines and give him mouth to mouth ( and probably Brian too). He is back to his happy self, but we are not sure about eggs for now. We will see our pediatrician next week for his 15 month appointment and I will have a zillion questions for her!
Easter was held 2 weekends in a row, and I think Owen loooves the hunt and find concept. Egg hunting was so fun and he is on the go go go these days. Motor abilities are full speed ahead and he is climbing, running, walking backwards, marching, driving little trucks all along the wall, and pushing everything able to roll and glide on the floor. The one thing I have noticed the most this past month is his verbal skills. He can say mama, dada, more, milk, dog, duck, yeah, nah, down, nana ( banana) and other crazy nonsensical words that we totally understand :) And the scary part is, he understands EVERYTHING you say.
We found a toad the other day, and it was jumping out of my hands and all around. Owen was laughing his head off. Later that night I told him to tell daddy that we say a toad today. He ran up to the door, outside and starting looking around the bushes saying ....ehhh?????
And instead of making the gesture " where" with your palms up and elbows in, Owen decided that it was palms down and elbows out. I can't help but laugh my head off and keep asking him where things are so he can gesture for me :)

OMG, that last photo of Brian and Owen mowing is CLASSIC!! LOVE IT!
