19 months old

19 months old= bull in a china shop.
This little love of my life is one crazy boy. The past few weeks have been verbal central. He has his own little vocabulary, and adding to it daily. He will repeat anything you say so watch out. It is also quite obvious that he understands 90% of what you say as well. He loves to say car....then he will put words with it, like "my car, mommy's car, dada's car, blue car, new car, 2 cars...etc. I know, it could be a Dr. Suess book...wait... is it? Cars are by far his favorite thing in the world. I find myself buying him a little matchbox everwhere we go, even Walgreens. I need to be careful or we will have a serious infestation on our hands.

He also loooves the word "NO". what kid doesn't? "owen, are you done with your milk? " Owen- NO, "ok, then do you want more milk?" Owen- NO, "ummm that makes no sense, more or all done?" Owen- NO. I have a completely insulted look on my face which Im sure is fueling the fire because it is a good reaction, so we will have to work on that :)

He also knows what he wants and communicates with us pretty well about it. Go go, up, down, outdoor, nite-nite, cracker, mulka ( thats milk) homo ( thats home), stop, or just grab your finger and pull you.

He also runs around saying everyones name, especially Hurley and Roxy, and Elmo and Ernie. It is so stinkin cute. If I get the computer out, its "mimi?" ( he thinks we are going to Skyper her) or he points out faces in pictures, Gigi, mama, dada, papa and papop, and has been working on his own name. I think it comes out like "oown".

And lastly in the word front, he is pointing out letters and colors, and also counting to 3. He will push his car by my car, look at the license plate, and say A, Z, T...even if the letters are not there, he recognizes them. He does well with his letters in the bath.

We had quite the week with the earthquake, then Hurricane Irene knocking out our power from Saturday to Wednesday. Uggh....I threw out a lot of milk. But it was not all bad. We hung out outside until it was dark, then came in bathed and went to bed with the windows down. I was unaware of the time, which was a nice change considering we stick to a pretty good schedule. Krissy the babysitter had power by Monday, so that was nice for Owen.

It is turning out to be a busy fall already, but I am looking forward to it. We have a football game, cousin Sawyers birthday, our 5 year anniversary, and my big test in November. Once that is out of the way, I will feel much more relaxed and can hang out with the family more!
