Springy Fun!

Spring is here and allergies are rampant in the house! Owen is barely hanging on with claritin, brian is sleeping loudly, the dogs are snoring, and kendall is just getting over croup! Mommy is covered in family boogers! Otherwise it is beautiful and green, and lush. It is great to get outside and watch the bees, splash in the puddles, and dig in the sand and dirt.

Owen is playing soccer and is really getting the hang of it for being 4! As coach Daddy, Brian has done well directing traffic that is a team of 4 year olds playing soccer. Its fun to watch. Owens best move so far has been his latest goal. He cut back towards the goal, scored, made his crazy HAR HAR laugh and went down the sideline for high fives! So adorable! He has also been doing a fair amount of sight words and reading along with preschool early readers. He is awful proud of himself :) I have no doubt this coming school year at Krissys will have him ready for 2nd grade! Owen will be headed to Woolridge hopefully so I'm glad he will be with his friends.

Kendall is now 16 months old and has hit her independent streak hard and fast. She is pointing and saying "that!" when she wants something like an ice cube from the freezer, cereal, wash her hands, put shoes on, read a book, eat some toothpaste, open the outside door etc...
If you try to change her diaper or put clothes on her and she not ready...get ready for tantrum city. I have to either hold her down( doesn't work), force her pants on her ( she will take them off), or just follow her around, distract her, then make it her idea! Im exhausted! (I already do this at work with the surgeons!) She is however speaking more now. She can copy or she will try to repeat any word you say. She can say " mama, dada, bubba, mimi, gigi, papa, pap, I E (ivy), bubble, ball, nana ( banana), cup, mil, muuuah (kiss), bat (bath), more, cheese, hi, bye-bye, wow, whoa, and my favorite...Pease!!!! (please) . Kendall can also now point to any picture in her book of words if you ask her where an object is...kendall where is the butterfly? Where is the baby crying? Where is the sleeping baby? Where is the owl? What does he say? "HOOHOO mama!

Frozen is a favorite in our household lately and I have seen it several times now. Owen can practically sing every word to Let It Go, and Kendall can actually sing every word or sound at the end of a verse. She can even carry a tune. We were singing together before bed. I stopped and she fudged her way through twinkle twinkle and I could completely hear which song she was singing. Happy by Pharrell is also a song we know all the words to and Kendall is a clapping maniac. Car rides are so fun and so hysterical!

Easter was really nice. That Saturday, we celebrated Ivy's first birthday and we also got to give Ethan his 1st birthday pressie as well. Ivy had a Lorax themed party with the cutest food, decor, and activities. She was a good sport and tore into her cupcake! Ivy and Kendall look more and more like sisters everyday.
We headed to church then came home to an Easter egg hunt, then basket opening. Owen received a new rescue bot ("its just what I wanted the easter bunny to bring me!") and kendall got her favorite....bubbles! and some baby legos. I swear she has so much patience and perseverence for putting something together.

Owen and Kendall have been able to play more together now. Kendall will be playing in her kitchen, Owen will join in, and she will push him out of her way and grunt if he's getting in her way.... likewise, Owen will be building legos, Kendall will come by and try to eat the smallest one, Owen will snatch it back and K will scream and throw it across the room! True brother and sister!
