36 week appointment

36 weeks! yay!!!! I am so happy to make it to the last month or so. It has made me think more about what is to come. At first I was just so psyched to get this pregnancy over with, and quit standing and running around at work. But the thought occurred to me that I need to cherish my one on one time with Owen as much as possible. When he asks me to read another book in bed and it is already 8:30 I go ahead and give in. He goes to sleep late but I wonder how much book time he will get with me in the next 2-3 months. I also cannot wait to meet this feisty little kicker I have cooking in here. She seems to have a personality already that screams "I'm gonna drive Daddy crazy!". She is already on the move in utero, I'm sure Daddy is going to worry his head off as an overprotective daddy of a daughter. She has to keep up with her big brother who I'm sure will love to boss her around.

It is an exciting time to be expecting a new addition to the family. I expected the holidays to be overwhelming while 9 months pregnant. It really has been the opposite. The whole holiday spirit gets wrapped in with the new baby arrival just like she is a gift. It also helps that I have all but finished and wrapped the Christmas gifts! We area also celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend in hopes that Uncle Aaron can make it too. So I am excited to have 2-3 days at home during actual Thanksgiving to put up decorations, make cookies together, shop, see Santa, clean and organize Kendall's baby stuff, and gear up for December!

I had my appointment on Monday and everything measured fine. Heart rate came in at 140 bpm. I gained half a pound, and blood pressure is good. I measured 37 cm. She also did my first internal exam and found that my cervix is 1/2 cm dilated. She did not make a comment about the effacement. She felt a head, and brought in the ultrasound to quickly scan my belly to confirm what she felt. Yep! A head! I was sooooooo relived to see the back of her head too! Everyone was very happy, and I was skipping around the rest of the day. Then Tuesday on my way home with Owen in the car, I got those familiar intense cramps, pressure, and wiggles. All I wanted to do was stop the car and stand up. When we got in the house and looked in the mirror I noticed how LOW baby was, and that my belly button was out of sight. She DROPPED! I still can't believe how noticeable and how sudden that dropping can be! I want Dr. Pringle to check her station next week and see if she can tell. I can breath better, sit easier, and eat more! hurray! Hopefully this will start moving things along! I would not be sad to see Kendall at the end of this month! :)
